This busy
small town was a hamlet until the opening
of Elstree station in 1868. The High
Street is part of the Roman Watling Street
and the crossroads have been present since
ancient times.
The main
feature of Elstree is Aldenham Country
Park with 175 acres of woodland, a
reservoir, fishing, sailing, rare breeds,
play areas, refreshments and it plays host
to events such as craft fairs. The park is
open every day.
